EGR Classic: Richwood Rams vs. Carroll Bulldogs

The Eddie G. Robinson Classic is the perfect opportunity for teams to set a course on how they want the season to go. The Richwood Rams and Carroll Bulldogs are both seeking a win to kick off the season and where better to do that the Eddie Robinson Classic. Carroll and Richwood should be an excellent matchup but a look at each team is needed before kickoff.

Richwood comes into the Eddie Robinson Classic looking to improve on a 2-8 record from last season. The Rams have talent coming back on both sides of the ball and that will make them a dangerous team to open against. Fans should look for wide receiver Zion Stokes to see plenty of opportunities to make plays during the course of the season. Stokes has good hands and terrific speed in the open field. Stokes along with quarterback Ashley Holmes gives the Richwood Rams a dangerous duo on the offensive side of the ball. The Ram are dangerous enough on both sides of the ball that improvement should be evident.

The Carroll Bulldogs improved tremendously in 2015. The Bulldogs put up an 8-4 record and showed that the 2014 season was a thing of the past. Coach Jackie Hamilton never fails to have his team ready to play and kicking off the season against Richwood should give the Bulldogs plenty of incentive to be ready to play. Look for Cedric Woods at the safety position and wide receiver to surprise fans with how hard and determined he plays the game. The Carroll-Richwood match up should be an excellent and fans will definitely be in for a treat.
