EGR Classic: Cavalry Baptist vs. Ouachita Lions

Cavalry Baptist may be a young team going into the 2016 season but they are not to be underestimated and overlooked. The Crusaders has a solid 2015 season finishing 9-3 a year ago and making to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Coach Jeff Fitzgerald and Ouachita Parish are ready to build on a solid 6-4 record from last season. Cavalry Baptist against Ouachita Parish had the potential to see some big plays on both sides of the ball and be a close match up.

Cavalry Baptist has the potential to be a dangerous team in 2016. Coach John Bachman has weapons on the offensive side of the ball that can stretch the field and cause problems for the opposing defense. Crusaders’ fans should keep an eye on the explosive wide receiver Kyle Jones. Jones racked up almost 700 yards receiving last year and is a dangerous wide out. Jones has great hands and good speed and can cause problems for the defense. Look for Cavalry Baptist to be dangerous on the offensive side of the ball in 2016.

Ouachita Parish has the potential to be a dangerous team on the offensive side of the ball in 2016 as well. Devion Warren has lined up at quarterback and wide receiver last season and is one of the most exciting players in the state of Louisiana. Warren had excellent speed and a strong arm. Ouachita Parish and Cavalry Baptist is a matchup that could turn into an offensive shootout if both teams are not careful. I look for this matchup to be a close, exciting football game and really get the fans out of the seats.
