’17 Season Preview: Little Rock Christian Warriors

The Little Rock Christian Warriors will be breaking in a new coach this season. Little Rock Christian brings in Eric Cohu after Weaver moved on to Russellville. Little Rock Christian went 5-7 last season and made the playoffs. The Warriors have plenty of experience coming back for the 2017 season and this could be an exciting year for Little Rock Christian.

Little Rock Christian will have plenty of weapons returning on the offensive side of the ball this season. The player for Warriors’ fans to watch out for on the offensive side of the ball is quarterback Jackson Bowersock. Bowersock had an impressive 2016 season, passing for over 3,600 yards and 34 touchdowns. Bowersock has the potential to have an even bigger this season, but he needs to reduce the number of turnovers. With eight starters returning on the offensive of the ball, the Warriors have the potential to win the 5-A Central championship.

An area that will need to improve for the Warriors to advance in the playoffs is on the defensive side of the ball. Little Rock Christian will have eight players returning on the defensive side of the ball this season. The player for Warriors’ fans to keep an eye out for on the defensive side of the ball is cornerback Davis Lee. Lee was involved in over 60 tackles last season and should be a solid player in the secondary this season for the Warriors. Little Rock Christian has plenty of experience coming back on the defensive side of the ball and this should be a group that contends in the 5-A Central.

The Warriors have plenty of experience coming back on both sides of the ball this season. Little Rock Christian should contend for the 5-A Central and has the potential to go on a playoff run. The offense should be solid and it would not shock me to see the Warriors play several weeks in November.
