The Lake Hamilton Wolves had an impressive season in 2016. Lake Hamilton went 6-5 and clinched a playoff berth. The Wolves fell to Searcy, but the momentum should continue into the 2017 season. Lake Hamilton will be breaking in a new coach in Tommy Gilleran but this should be a group that should once again challenge for a playoff berth.
The Wolves’ offense will be an experienced group as they enter the 2017 season. Lake Hamilton will have eight returning starters on the offensive side of the ball returning this season. The Wolves’ offense will be running the Wing T this season and the personnel that are there, is well suited for it. The offensive line is going to be a strength for the Wolves, and a player to keep an eye on is tackle William Burgess. Burgess is an aggressive lineman with good strength and size to dominate the running game. Lake Hamilton should not have any problem getting the offense to execute.
Lake Hamilton’s defense is another experienced group. The Wolves have six starters returning on the defensive side of the ball. The player that fans should keep an eye on is Wolves defensive end/linebacker Ra’quan Hamp. Hamp has perfect size at 6’3” for the defensive end or linebacker positions and can play both with equal strength. The Wolves defense should be a solid group, when they square off against the rest of the 6-A West.
Lake Hamilton is a talented, experienced football team. The Wolves will likely be a playoff team, but with several tough teams in the conference, a conference title may be out of reach this season. Lake Hamilton fans can look for a playoff berth and possibly a playoff run this season.
