The Har-Ber Wildcats in a short period of time, have become a football powerhouse in the 7-A West. Har-Ber went 8-3 last season and won the conference championship as well as made a playoff appearance. Going into the 2017 season, the Wildcats are in a good position to make a deep playoff and possibly win a state championship.
The Wildcats’ offense has been dangerous the past few seasons, and fans should look for the offense to be dangerous this season. The passing game for the Wildcats should become more dangerous with Grant Allen and Connor Sikes connecting once again. Sikes racked up 518 yards receiving and the potential is there for an even bigger season. Har-Ber has the weapons on the offensive side of the ball to light up the scoreboards this fall and make a deep playoff run.
Har-Ber’s defense is shaping up to be just as impressive as the offense. The Wildcats have nose guard Alejandro Ramirez returning and Har-Ber fans are looking for him to continue to be a disruptive influence in the opposing offensive backfield. The Wildcats will need to find someone to take the place of Olvier Nasilai at the linebacker position, but this team is still talented enough to win the 7-A West and make a deep playoff run.
The Wildcats are easily one of the most talented teams in the 7-A conference and should be a team to keep an eye on to reach Little Rock for the state championship. The Wildcats are loaded on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and this should be a fun group to watch this season. Har-Ber fans should look for a deep playoff run, if everyone can stay healthy and the offense and defense both clicks.
