The Bentonville have become one of the three constants in life recent years. The Tigers are always in the playoff mix and always seem to go deep into November, which usually means an appearance at War Memorial Stadium. 2016 saw the Tigers claim another conference championship and make another playoff appearance. However, Bentonville ran into a familiar nemesis in Fayetteville and was bounced before the Tigers could make another trip to Little Rock.
On the offensive side of the ball, Tigers’ fans should look for running back Easton Miller to see a big chunk of carries this season. Miller did well late in the season for the Tigers, racking up over 330 yards and scoring four touchdowns. With the Tigers’ offense operating largely out of the pistol, fans should look for a good mix of the run and the pass. Bentonville fans should look for Kam’Ron Mays-Hunt to continue to stretch the field and rack up the receiving yards for the Tigers.
Bentonville has always been tough team on the defensive side of the ball and the 2017 season should not show a decline. Jadyn Loudermilk earned all-conference honors a year ago and he is looking to have an even bigger season this season. Loudermilk had over 50 tackles a year ago and I look for him to continue his solid play in the defensive secondary.
Bentonville is a team that should challenge for a playoff spot and has the potential to make a playoff run. Bentonville may not win 10 games but they should have a solid season in 2017.
